This is placeholder template content for illustration purposes only and is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified solicitor or data protection professional before publishing a live site, and replace every bracketed or placeholder detail with your firm's real information.

1. Who we are

Sea Champions Assurance Limited ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our registered office is 1 King William Street, London EC4N 7AF, United Kingdom. You can contact us about privacy matters at [email protected].

2. What data we collect

We collect personal data in the following ways:

  • Quote and callback requests — the name, email address, cover type, destination country and any message you submit through our contact form.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited, collected automatically via server logs and (only with your consent) analytics.
  • Cookies and local storage — see section 6 below.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive category data (such as health information) through this website. If you disclose health or medical information as part of arranging a policy, that is collected separately as part of the underwriting process and is subject to additional safeguards described at the point of collection.

3. How we use your data

We use the data described above to:

  • Respond to quote requests and provide insurance advice or arrangement services;
  • Match you with an appropriate policy from our panel of underwriters;
  • Administer any policy you take out, including renewals and claims;
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-fraud and financial crime checks;
  • Improve this website, where you have consented to analytics cookies.

4. Legal basis for processing

5. Who we share your data with

We may share your data with:

  • Insurance underwriters and panel providers, in order to obtain and arrange quotes and cover;
  • IT and hosting providers who process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement;
  • Regulators, law enforcement or other parties where we are legally required to do so;
  • Professional advisers such as auditors, lawyers and insurers of our own business.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Cookies

This site uses two categories of storage:

  • Strictly necessary — used to remember your cookie preference and, if you install this site as an app, to support offline viewing. These do not require consent and cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics (optional) — used only if you select "Accept all" in the cookie banner, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

We do not use third-party advertising or marketing cookies on this site.

7. How long we keep your data

Enquiry data that does not proceed to a policy is retained for up to 24 months, so we can follow up on your enquiry and meet complaint-handling obligations, then deleted or anonymised. Data relating to an active or historic policy is retained for as long as required by FCA record-keeping rules, typically the length of the policy plus six years.

8. International transfers

Where we use service providers based outside the UK, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations, before any personal data is transferred.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Request erasure of your data, where applicable;
  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing;
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. Our ICO registration number is ZA098655.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
